Patrick M Leonard is seeking the Republican nomination for the office of Commissioner in Lehigh County. With a strong commitment to community service, fiscal responsibility, and transparent governance, Leonard aims to bring practical leadership to the Board of Commissioners.

Leonard is proud to have received the endorsement of Commissioner Jeff Dutt, a respected leader who shares Leonard’s vision for a prosperous and well-managed Lehigh County. “Commissioner Dutt’s endorsement reflects the strong collaboration we can achieve to ensure Lehigh County continues to thrive as a great place to live and work,” Leonard added.
Experience
Leonard brings extensive public service experience, including serving as a Township Supervisor in Upper Saucon from 2012 to 2018. He also served on the Upper Saucon Planning Commission from 2006 to 2014, the Environmental Advisory Council from 2007 to 2008, and the Zoning Hearing Board from 2003 to 2006. Leonard is the Deputy Emergency Management Coordinator for Upper Saucon Township and has been employed at Upper Saucon Township since 2018, currently working as the Director of General Services. He is also the current President of the Southern Lehigh Public Library Board of Directors Prior to his current role in municipal government, Leonard has over 25 years of experience working in the private sector, primarily in small businesses so he understands the challenges that small businesses face in today’s highly competitive economic environment. Leonard served the Nation honorably in the US Army.
As a dedicated advocate for key issues such as farmland preservation, open space preservation, and emergency services, Leonard plans to focus on these critical areas alongside fiscal responsibility, economic development, and strengthening emergency services. He is committed to protecting Lehigh County’s agricultural heritage by supporting policies that preserve local farmland, ensuring that future generations can enjoy the benefits of open, productive land. Leonard is also focused on advocating for the preservation of green spaces and recreational areas as the county grows, ensuring that residents have access to safe, healthy outdoor environments. In addition, he plans to prioritize strengthening the county’s emergency services by advocating for increased resources, training, and support for local first responders, ensuring that residents can rely on swift, effective assistance in times of need.
